Think about trying Gabcast... you set up an account, call a phone number - talk into the phone, and a podcast recording is emailed to you! Wa - La ! If you use the BETA version, you can download the MP3 file to your desktop. You then use POD-O-MATIC to upload to your blog! If you use the regular version, there is a code to copy and paste into your blog.
Download iTunes if you do not have it, or search on google for some. If you do have iTunes: Open iTunes, access the iTunes store, and close to the bottome of the page is iTunes U. Also, under the store heading on the left is the general topic of podcasting. Click on podcasting and you can then choose the sub topic of education, or any other topic you may be interested in! :) Your podcast topic does not have to be related to education at all. It could be about gardening or cooking, sports, or the news.
www.gcast.com and podomatic.com are two tools to upload podcasts to your blog people have used before
For your podcast activity, I am giving you very little guidance on purpose. I want you to go out there and learn how to learn. Can you search and find the information you need? Can you learn a new program? Where are you going to look for help? Who are you going to ask for help?Creating a podcast is a three step process
1. Record the audio file (you choose! Can be you interviewing someone, or you just talking about something random, or about this class. You could record a lesson you do at school or record students talking - hard if you are out for the summer without kids, but they could be your own kids!).
2. Upload the audio file (must be in mp3 or acc format) to the web using some sort of podcast or file hosting service.
3. Link the audio file to your blog turning an audio file into a podcasat (It only becomes a podcast when you share it with the world!).
Please note that the due date for this is the end of the course....for some this might be a HUGE learning curve. Take your time, learn something new, and do it right. :)
Good Luck here are some good podcasts to get you started. If you use iTunes you can search for more on your own.
